PROJECTS FOR THE COMMUNITY
Thank You to our Sponsors.

It has been 2 years since we started this new initiative and it is time to give a little feedback and a big Thank You to everyone who made this project possible. We initially started with 10 WiFi Towers in Melkhoutfontein using the R50,000 provided so generously by our Sponsors.
It was difficult to get "buy-in" for this initiative from the Community as so many projects in the past were started but were never finished, and the people of Melkhoutfontein have a lack of faith in the ability of outsiders to bring change to the circumstances in Melkhoutfontein. So, Cobus Jordaan suggested we start by addressing a real need in Melkhoutfontein, i.e. supplying internet as the town had no internet.
This proved to be hugely successful, as other Internet suppliers in Still Bay suddenly saw a new opportunity and they started supplying internet in Melkhoutfontein for the first time ever. In the beginning, we saw more Internet suppliers getting a foot in the door as competition, but God showed us that it was progress and improvement to Melkhoutfontein which would not have happened if we did not start providing Internet 2 years ago.
The bonus, however, is that the Network has acquired another 6 WiFi Towers with the funds generated by Internet Voucher Sales without having to ask anyone else for money. In addition to that, the internet requirements for Ouma Lena se Huis is supplied and financed from these Voucher Sales as well.
We are still looking for "Bad Spots" where the WiFi is not available or the signal is very weak.
We are also planning to make the internet available to everyone right through Load Shedding.
PROGRESS AFTER 2 YEARS
THANK YOU LORD
Still a long way to achieve the actual goal.

As you'll remember, our initial goal was to teach the people of Melkhoutfontein to 'Catch Fish' by offering them skills and tools that they can use to grow to self-sufficiency.
The initial vision was to create a platform where we could see constant interaction between normal earthly things' like training or skills and 'heavenly things' like values and principles from the Bible. This vision stems from a firm belief that we are all God's creations for His purpose and the best results for our lives can be achieved by surrendering our lives to His will and plans.
This website was the first step to achieve that, but we've had no success in acquiring volunteers for the cause. So, now it is time to go back to the drawing board and create an opportunity for all the stakeholders, sponsors and any interested people to find out what God's plan is with the upliftment of Melkhoutfontein and how they can have a part in it.
In short then, we need your Prayers:
WHERE TO FROM HERE?
WE NEED GOD'S CONTINUOUS INPUT AND APPROVAL
About Melkhoutfontein
Melkhoutfontein is 'n small community just outside Still Bay. Melkhoutfontein was established as a fisherman’s settlement during the 1850’s.
When the fish industry changed through legislation, this little community had a huge problem because the people were not skilled in other areas.
The main purpose of the website is to create opportunities to develop modern skills.
It's our mission to reach the people of Melkhoutfontein by giving them opportunities to learn basic skills in areas like writing, marketing, web design, computer literacy, customer service skills, telephone manners, etc. which can help them to seize opportunities where they'll be able to become self-sufficient, contribute to society as well as add value wherever they apply their skills.
