Melkhoutfontein Creations was inspired by an announcement by Angus Buchan in May 2020 that he heard from God that he needed to host a World Wide Conference online while the world was locked down by COVID. This was such a new thought in the midst of the depression and fear that came over our planet.
The Men's Group of Still Bay had been praying and thinking about ways to improve the hopeless in Melkhoutfontein and thought this conference by Angus could be a good start towards this goal. The only problem was that Melkhoutfontein did not have Internet so how was Angus's message of hope going to be shared with them?
Dawie van der Merwe designed a Wi-Fi Cloud Network which would cover most of Melkhoutfontein for a fraction of the price of a conventional Network and we had just more than a week to raise the funds and build the Network. This was a total miracle and we were able to make Angus's message available an hour after it ended.
Unfortunately the Network had too many dead spots where the people were unable to connect to the Wi-Fi.
During the next year and a half, the focus moved to improving the Network coverage without asking anyone to donate more money. This was achieved by Internet Voucher Sales and so money was raised by the community for the community.
Our initial goal was to teach the people of Melkhoutfontein to 'Catch Fish' by offering them skills and tools that they can use to grow to self-sufficiency.
Consider the following verses:
Proverbs 16:4 GOD made everything with a place and purpose;
Proverbs 16:16 Get wisdom—it's worth more than money; choose insight over income every time.
Proverbs 16:20 It pays to take life seriously; things work out when you trust in GOD.
It basically says we are all made for God's purpose and our lives will work better if we trust Him to guide us.
2Thessalonians 3:10b "If you don't work, you don't eat."

This stems from a firm belief that we are all God's creations for His purpose and the best results for our lives can be achieved by submitting our lives to His will and plans.
